Connor Ingram announces retirement from the NHL
NHL goaltender Connor Ingram has announced his retirement from professional hockey at the age of 29. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native shared the news via Instagram, stating, “Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy it happened. Thanks hockey, I owe ya.”
Ingram played 134 career NHL games across five seasons, representing the Nashville Predators, Arizona Coyotes, Utah Hockey Club, and most recently, the Edmonton Oilers. During the 2025-26 campaign with Edmonton, he made 32 regular-season appearances, recording a 16-10-3 record.
Following his retirement, Ingram intends to return to school to study psychology to “use what he learns to help others.” He has been transparent regarding his mental health, having previously shared his diagnoses of depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder in 2021. His professional accolades include receiving the Bill Masterton Trophy for perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication during the 2023-24 season.
