Connor Jones appointed head coach of ECHL Tahoe Knight Monsters

Former Beaver Valley Nitehawks forward and Montrose native Connor Jones has been named head coach of the Tahoe Knight Monsters, an ECHL team based in Tahoe, Nevada. The Knights are the ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights and the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights. Jones joins the club after serving as an assistant coach at Princeton University, where he helped the Tigers improve their win total, and previously working as a college scout for the Golden Knights from 2022 to 2024.

During his playing career, Jones logged 153 NCAA games with Quinnipiac University, served as an alternate captain, appeared in 290 AHL games, 79 ECHL games, and four NHL games with the New York Islanders in the 2016‑17 season. He also won back‑to‑back Royal Bank Cup championships with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL and spent seasons playing in Switzerland and Sweden. Jones will replace the Knights’ inaugural coach and is expected to build on the organization’s early success.
