Connor Zilisch signs with Hendrick Motorsports for 2028
Connor Zilisch has signed a multi-year agreement to drive the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports starting in 2028, succeeding Alex Bowman. While the long-term move is secured, Zilisch has emphasized his commitment to his current team, Trackhouse Racing, stating his goal is to ‘leave Trackhouse better than I found it’ and finish his tenure on a high note.
Alongside the Zilisch announcement, Hendrick Motorsports leadership, including Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon, reaffirmed their support for driver Corey Day. Despite Zilisch securing the 2028 Cup Series seat, the organization plans to continue a long-term development program for the 20-year-old talent. Hendrick noted that Day is currently transitioning to asphalt racing and that the team’s plans for him extend well beyond the immediate future.
