Conor Kennedy faces arrest warrant in Russia over Ukraine mercenary accusations

The Basmanny District Court in Moscow has authorized the arrest of Conor Kennedy, the son of U.S. official Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Russian authorities have accused Kennedy of acting as a mercenary alongside Ukrainian forces.

Kennedy, who previously stated in 2022 that he joined an international volunteer group to support Ukraine following the Russian invasion, could face a prison sentence of seven to ten years if brought to trial in Russia. While the arrest was decreed, legal experts consider a trial unlikely.

Brazilian singer Giulia Be, Kennedy’s wife, reacted to the news on social media with irony, posting a message to him following her 27th birthday. The couple, who married in Los Angeles in March 2026, had recently been celebrating her bachelorette party at a castle in France.
