Conor Kennedy placed on Russian wanted list over Ukraine service

Russian authorities have placed Conor Kennedy on an international wanted list. The Moscow District Court of Basmanny authorized his detention following allegations that he acted as a mercenary during the conflict in Ukraine.

Kennedy, a lawyer and son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., reportedly joined the International Legion for the Territorial Defense of Ukraine in 2022 to fight on the Kharkiv front. In October 2022, he publicly addressed his decision to volunteer, stating he wanted to share his version of the story before it surfaced elsewhere.

If detained and convicted in Russia, Kennedy could face a prison sentence ranging from seven to ten years.
