Conor McGregor returns at UFC 329 to face Max Holloway

UFC 329 took place on 11 July 2026 at the T‑Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Irish former two‑division champion Conor McGregor made his long‑awaited comeback after a five‑year absence caused by a broken tibia suffered in 2021. He stepped up to the welterweight limit (170 lb/77 kg) to challenge former featherweight champion Max Holloway, who also moved up to welterweight for the bout.

Both fighters entered the cage with contrasting recent form: Holloway had been active, recording eight fights since McGregor’s last appearance, while McGregor spent the hiatus training, sleeping at his coach’s gym, and, for the first time in his career, abstaining from any physical contact, including sexual activity, to maximise focus. The Irishman described the effort as “intense” and said a “fire” roared inside him for the fight.

The main card also featured co‑headliners Benoît Saint‑Denis vs. Paddy Pimblett and several ranked match‑ups across weight classes. Ticket sales broke UFC records, and betting operators promoted high‑stakes offers, with odds favoring Holloway but substantial payouts promised for a McGregor victory. The event was broadcast live on Paramount+ in the United States, TNT Sports Box Office in the United Kingdom and via local pay‑TV partners worldwide.
