Consell increases forest fire aid to 17.9 million euros
The Consell has approved an expansion of emergency aid for municipalities affected by forest fires in the regions of Castellón and Valencia. The total funding for these urgent measures has been increased to approximately 17.9 million euros, representing an increase of 1.17 million euros over the initial allocation.
The expanded aid package covers several municipalities, including Tírig, Catí, Albocàsser, Culla, La Salzadella, Segorbe, and Gátova. These funds are intended to address damages suffered by individuals, businesses, and public administrations. Specifically, the resources can be used to repair homes and vehicles, support economic activities, and assist agricultural, livestock, and forestry operations. Additionally, the funds will support repairs to municipal infrastructure and services impacted by the fires.
The decision follows two major fire events in August: the Tírig fire on August 7, which spread to several surrounding areas, and the Segorbe fire on August 20, which also affected Gátova.
