Conservation Trust Fund seeks Sierra Leonean agency partnerships
The Conservation Trust Fund (CTF), led by newly appointed Executive Director Ahmid C. Jalloh, is engaging with various Sierra Leonean government institutions to strengthen conservation efforts and resource mobilization.
In a meeting with the Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA), Director General Yankuba Askia Bio expressed a willingness to support initiatives protecting marine ecosystems, wetlands, and biodiversity. The discussions focused on identifying practical areas of cooperation to support the livelihoods of coastal communities and the sustainable management of natural resources.
Additionally, the CTF met with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (MTCA) to address challenges such as limited stakeholder engagement and overlapping institutional functions. The MTCA reaffirmed its commitment to partnerships that support sustainable tourism development and environmental conservation through improved inter-agency coordination.
