Conservative activist Jack Ross suspended over contract killing claims

Jack Ross, the chief executive of Turning Point UK, has been suspended from the Conservative Party following undercover footage released by Al Jazeera. The documentary features clips filmed during the 2022 Tory Party Conference in which Ross appears to discuss brokering violent services, including stabbing, shooting, and killing.

In the footage, Ross allegedly suggested that criminal contacts could provide assistance in London or travel from Scotland. The report also features a meeting between an undercover journalist and a Glasgow-based criminal contact who discussed methods for covering up a murder.

Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch described the allegations as “shocking,” noting that Ross is no longer considered a member. While Ross previously provided social media advice to Conservative headquarters, a party spokesperson stated his membership has been suspended pending an investigation. Ross has denied the findings, claiming his comments were not intended to be taken seriously. Police in Scotland are currently assessing the documentary for potential criminality.
