Conservative Party overtakes Reform UK in latest UK polls

New YouGov polling indicates a shift in UK political support, with the Conservative Party overtaking Reform UK for the first time since 2024. The Conservatives saw a three-point increase to 23 per cent following their annual conference, marking the highest rating for the party since Kemi Badenoch assumed leadership.

Reform UK, led by Nigel Farage, fell to 21 per cent, placing it in third position. The governing Labour Party also experienced a decline, dropping three points to 24 per cent, leaving them just one percentage point ahead of the Conservatives in voting intentions.

Badenoch attributed the momentum to a new direction for the party, specifically highlighting her pledge to abolish inheritance tax on family homes. She proposed allowing couples to leave up to £1m to their children tax-free, a move she claims would reduce the number of families paying inheritance tax by more than half.
