Conservatorio de Música de Carabobo graduates first cohort of composers

The Conservatorio de Música de Carabobo (Consermuca) held its 2025-2026 academic graduation ceremony on August 2 at the Centro Social Ítalo Venezolano. The event marked a milestone for the institution as it graduated its first-ever cohort of composers, consisting of students Dámaso Castillo, Manuel Contreras Vadell, and Diego González.

In addition to the composition graduates, the conservatory issued 156 certificates to 98 students completing various musical programs. The curriculum for the composition specialization includes three years of study covering harmony, counterpoint, fugue, music history, and musical aesthetics.

The ceremony featured performances by the Consermuca Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jorge Castillo, including works by Mozart and Beethoven. Director María Vadell noted that admission remains open for the 2026-2027 academic period for students of all ages.
