Conservatory of Vigo hosts first Erasmus+ non‑EU mobility gathering

The Conservatorio Superior de Música de Vigo welcomed around 150 participants from Spanish universities, vocational institutions and artistic schools, as well as representatives from Cambodia, Thailand, Sarajevo and Montenegro, for a state‑wide Erasmus+ mobility session focused on non‑EU partners. The event, organized by the Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (Sepie), highlighted 89 approved projects that will fund 5,307 mobilities, involving 2,656 students and 2,651 staff members.

Sepie’s Higher Education Unit director José Manuel Sánchez Duarte noted a €22 million budget for third‑country mobility, lower than that for intra‑EU exchanges, but emphasized the program’s role in expanding learning and teaching opportunities beyond Europe. The Conservatory was chosen for its long‑standing involvement in international exchanges, averaging about 200 movements per year since joining Erasmus in 2008.
