Constanța church to be relocated following illegal construction ruling

The Izvorul Tămăduirii church, located on Tomis Boulevard in the Macul Roșu area of Constanța, is being relocated following a definitive court ruling regarding its illegal construction. The building was erected over 20 years ago without the necessary building permits or fire safety authorizations.

Following the judicial decision, parishioners gathered to recover religious objects from the structure. The Tomis Archbishopric stated that the relocation to the Badea Cârțan area was agreed upon with the Constanța City Hall, and the recovered items will be moved to a new church in that location. The situation led to tensions between local authorities and the church, requiring gendarmerie intervention to maintain order during the process.
