Constanța eco-islands for waste collection remain unused for over a year

Modern eco-islands for waste collection in Constanța have remained unused for over a year despite being installed as part of a modernization program. The initiative, which aimed to replace old waste bins with card-access containers for selective recycling, has failed to achieve its goals.

Because the new systems are not functioning, residents continue to use old, exposed containers. This has resulted in waste being scattered into streets and green spaces. Neither the Constanța City Hall nor the sanitation company, Polaris M Holding, have provided a timeline for when the new system will become fully operational.
