Constanța implements cultural accessibility and school infrastructure updates
In Constanța, local authorities and cultural institutions are addressing infrastructure and accessibility needs. The Constanța State Theatre, in partnership with the British Council, launched the ‘Scena deschisă’ (Open Stage) platform. This initiative focuses on making performing arts accessible to people with disabilities, including audio descriptions for the visually impaired, sign language interpretation for the deaf, and adaptations for neurodivergent individuals.
Simultaneously, Constanța municipal officials and the County School Inspectorate have announced measures for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year. Due to ongoing rehabilitation and energy efficiency modernization projects in several educational units, some students will be temporarily relocated to ensure safety and quality of instruction. Schools such as ‘Nicolae Tonitza’ Middle School and ‘Carol I’ Commercial College are among those undergoing significant renovations that will impact their physical locations during the construction period.
