Constanța Local Council passes new gambling regulations

The Constanța Local Council has passed a new regulation regarding the organization and operation of gambling in physical locations. The project was modified from an initial proposal that sought a total ban on such activities following public debate and transparency periods.

The approved version introduces restrictive conditions for operators, including limitations on placement and advertising, as well as the implementation of local taxes. During the session, council members debated the merits of the regulation, with some proposing a total ban on gambling within the municipality while others argued for regulation to ensure local budget revenue and compared the approach to other cities like Brașov and Oradea.
