Constanța: Man seriously injured in train and truck collision

A serious accident occurred on November 1 near Gate 10 in the Port of Constanța South Agigea, involving a collision between a train and a vehicle consisting of a utility vehicle and a semi-trailer.

The collision resulted in severe injuries to a 57-year-old man who was reportedly positioned on the buffer of the last train wagon at the moment of impact, causing him to be trapped between the two vehicles. Emergency crews from SMURD and the Constanța County Ambulance Service responded to the scene, transporting the victim to a medical unit for treatment.

Police investigations indicate the utility vehicle was driven by a 49-year-old man and the train by a 60-year-old man. Both drivers tested negative for alcohol. Authorities have opened a criminal investigation into the incident for the offense of negligent bodily harm.
