Constance Wu confirms 'Crazy Rich Asians' series filming to begin in 2027

Actor Constance Wu has confirmed that production for the 'Crazy Rich Asians' television series is scheduled to begin in 2027. The project, which was recently greenlit by HBO, will be filmed in New York.

Wu will reprise her role as Rachel Chu. Other returning cast members expected to participate include Henry Golding as Nick Young, Ronny Chieng as Eddie Chang, and Michelle Yeoh in a recurring role as Eleanor Young.

Adele Lim, who co-wrote the original 2018 film, will serve as the showrunner and writer for the eight-episode series. The production is based on the characters and world created by author Kevin Kwan in his book series. Jon M. Chu and Kevin Kwan are set to serve as executive producers.
