Constantin Schreiber to moderate Egyptian talk show
Former German news presenter Constantin Schreiber will host a new talk show titled ‘Islam Talk’ on the Egyptian religious channel Azhari TV. The program is scheduled to begin broadcasting in January 2027, with initial episodes already filmed.
Schreiber, a former presenter for the German news program Tagesschau, stated that the channel’s leadership expressed interest in a collaboration following the publication of his book, ‘Inside Islam’. The show aims to foster lively and critical debate regarding Islam and its relationship with the West, specifically targeting Arabic-speaking communities and Muslims in Europe.
Schreiber, who is fluent in Arabic, has previously faced controversy regarding his writings and lectures on Islam and Islamism. He intends to use the platform to address concerns regarding extremist tendencies.
