Journalist Constanza Santa María recently returned to her duties at Mega following a medical leave. Her absence from the news program had sparked social media speculation following a tense live interview in late July with the Governor of Coquimbo, Cristóbal Juliá. During that broadcast, Juliá criticized the electrical company CGE and reacted sharply to journalistic questioning regarding a request for a State of Catastrophe.

Internal sources from the station clarified that Santa María’s absence was due to a diagnosis of pneumonia rather than any disciplinary action related to the controversial interview. She has since completed her recovery and reintegrated into her regular work schedule.
