Constitutional Court delegation attends international conference in Montenegro
A delegation from the Constitutional Court of North Macedonia, led by Judge Dobrila Katsarska and advisor Martin Trajanovski, participated in the international conference ‘For the Constitution, the State and Democracy’ held in Tivat, Montenegro, from October 1 to 4.
The conference brought together presidents, vice-presidents, and judges from constitutional and supreme courts across various European nations, alongside high-ranking representatives from the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and the Venice Commission.
Key discussion topics included constitutional and institutional challenges regarding European integration, ensuring the rule of law, and the legal implications of transferring sovereign competencies to the European Union. A significant portion of the dialogue focused on the use of artificial intelligence tools in constitutional judiciary, specifically examining potential applications, risks to judicial independence, and the ethical dilemmas involved.
During the event, Judge Katsarska met with Pavlina Panova, President of the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria, to confirm successful cooperation and commit to further enhancing ties through the exchange of best practices.
