Constitutional Court of Montenegro honors ECHR President

Snežana Armenko, President of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, presented a certificate of appreciation to Mattias Guyomar, President of the European Court of Human Rights, during an international conference in Tivat. The event, titled ‘On the Constitution, State and Democracy’, brought together presidents, vice-presidents, and judges from various European constitutional and supreme courts, as well as representatives from the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Venice Commission.

Armenko emphasized the importance of building trust between individuals within institutions to strengthen the rule of law and judicial independence. She highlighted the role of the conference in fostering professional cooperation and friendship among legal leaders. The conference was supported by the ‘EU Empower ME’ project, co-financed by the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany and implemented by GIZ.
