Constitutional Court of the Dominican Republic reviews 23 legal challenges

The Constitutional Court of the Dominican Republic held a public hearing to review 23 direct actions of unconstitutionality. These cases cover a wide range of legal and social issues, including the Penal Code, the electoral regime, labor law, environmental regulations, and tax matters.

Among the significant cases is a challenge filed by the Dominican Inclusive Lesbian Community (COLESDOM) and Rosalba Karina Díaz Crisóstomo against article 173 of Law No. 74-25, which establishes the Penal Code. The hearing also addressed matters related to solid waste management, electronic invoicing, drug legislation, and money laundering. To ensure accessibility, the Court provided sign language interpretation for participants with hearing impairments.
