Constitutional Court files criminal complaints against 15 political parties
The Constitutional Court of Turkey has issued 30 separate decisions regarding the financial audits of 26 political parties, as published in the Official Gazette. The court identified significant irregularities, including missing documentation, discrepancies in financial statements, and unrecorded income and expenditures.
Key findings include the absence of mandatory documents proving that party accounts were approved by authorized organs, as well as missing records for essential management costs such as rent, electricity, and water. The court noted that the absence of these routine expenses suggests the existence of off-the-books transactions. Consequently, the court has decided to file criminal complaints with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the responsible managers of 15 specific parties.
Among the audited entities, the Anahtar Parti, led by Yavuz Ağıralioğlu, faced specific scrutiny. The court rejected its 2024 final accounts due to a 707,500 lira discrepancy in donations, total income, and debt items, alongside the failure to submit required approval documents.
