Constitutional Tribunal implements personnel changes amid prosecutor suspensions

The President of the Constitutional Tribunal, Bogdan Święczkowski, has implemented personnel changes following the suspension of two officials by the National Prosecutor's Office. The suspended individuals include Zofia H., Director of the Tribunal's Chancellery, and Piotr P., Commander of the Tribunal Guard.

The Prosecutor's Office brought charges against the suspended officials, including allegations of dereliction of duty and actions that potentially harmed the public interest and the rights of judges. In response to these suspensions, which the Tribunal described as an ‘unprecedented attack’ by the Prosecutor's Office, Święczkowski appointed Beata Białowa to temporarily oversee the duties of the Chancellery Director.

Additionally, Andrzej Stróżny, the former head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau (CBA), has been hired as an advisor to the President of the Constitutional Tribunal for security matters. This appointment comes one week after Stróżny faced charges related to the alleged misuse of two CBA safe houses for purposes other than official duties.
