Construction delays at Friedberg station and demolition projects in Hagen

Construction work at Friedberg station has faced significant delays due to unstable ground and water ingress. Project manager Markus Baumann reported that the soil became almost gel-like due to water, requiring more extensive excavation and soil replacement to ensure long-term stability for the tracks. Consequently, the reopening of the rail line between Augsburg-Hochzoll and Dasing, originally scheduled for November 16, has been postponed indefinitely.

In Hagen, the city has begun a large-scale demolition project to address a housing surplus and improve the urban environment. Supported by the 80 million euro Hagen-Pakt from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, officials aim to demolish approximately 600 apartments located in roughly 350 identified problem properties. The initiative also includes the modernization of 1,000 additional apartments to revitalize the area around the main station.
