Construction industry initiatives target recruitment and training

The construction and public works sectors are implementing new initiatives to address recruitment challenges and promote professional training.

In Martinique, the Salon des Bâtisseurs 2026 recently brought together contractors, artisans, institutions, and apprentices to foster industry unity and facilitate networking. Following the event, organizers announced that these meetings will occur more frequently throughout 2027 to support the sector's development.

On a larger scale, the INTERMAT trade fair has announced the creation of the ‘INTERMAT Academy’ for its April 2027 edition in Paris. This dedicated space aims to bridge the gap between educational institutions and companies through immersive pedagogical programs, simulators, and professional meetups. The initiative specifically targets the need for increased female representation in the industry and the integration of new technologies to ensure long-term sustainability and attractiveness of construction careers.
