Construction industry leaders debate regional infrastructure in Cuyo

During the 'Construyamos Cuyo' forum in Mendoza, representatives from the Argentine Chamber of Construction (CAMARCO) discussed the strategic agenda for infrastructure in the Cuyo region, specifically regarding energy, mining, industry, and transport.

Juan Martín Sanchís Graffigna, president of the CAMARCO Mendoza Delegation, reported that the construction sector is experiencing deep stagnation following economic impacts in 2024. While noting that the Mendoza government has allocated compensation funds to public works, Sanchís Graffigna emphasized that private investment must serve as the primary driver for regional development.

Key challenges identified include rising real estate development costs, the urgent need to restructure mortgage credit, and the energy demands imposed by the mining sector. The forum also addressed the limitations of relying solely on private financing for national infrastructure.
