Construction milestones reached in Berlin and Pfungstadt, Germany
In Berlin's Spandau district, DIBAG Industriebau AG and general contractor Köster GmbH have progressed on the Am Salzhof residential quarter. After the March groundbreaking, several of the planned 14 buildings are already rising. The project will deliver 463 new rental apartments on a 36,000 m² site, with the first 150 units expected by early 2027/28, and includes extensive new green spaces and pedestrian‑friendly design.
In Pfungstadt, Hessen, the new municipal swimming pool is also advancing. Earthworks were completed on 29 January, and the tender for the stainless‑steel pool has been awarded after a brief procedural dispute. The city expects the wooden and steel structure to be installed next, with a provisional topping‑out in late July‑early August and a ribbon‑cutting ceremony slated for 30 September. Funding of roughly €431,100 from the state’s SWIMplus programme supports the project, with the hand‑over planned by State Secretary Diana Stolz.
