Construction trends focus on energy efficiency and precision
Modern construction techniques are evolving to meet energy efficiency and precision requirements. Ytong Lambda YQ aerated concrete blocks allow for single-layer wall construction that meets low-energy housing standards without the need for additional external insulation. Blocks with a thickness of 450 mm to 500 mm can achieve thermal transmittance values (U) between 0.166 and 0.150 W/(m².K), potentially enabling near-zero energy consumption.
In contrast, timber frame constructions demand significantly higher precision during the foundation stage compared to traditional masonry. While masonry can compensate for minor irregularities with mortar, timber frame panels require foundation slabs to meet strict tolerances, with a maximum allowable deviation of 15 mm in flatness and dimensions. To prevent damage during the anchoring of steel elements, specialized methods such as applying waterproofing directly to the substrate before pouring the concrete slab are being utilized to protect the insulation layer.
