Consulting Project Plus faces proposed bankruptcy in Croatia

The Financial Agency (FINA) has proposed the opening of bankruptcy proceedings for Consulting Project Plus d. o. o., a company owned by Mladen Kešer, a long-time official and council member. The proposal follows the company's accounts being blocked for more than 140 days, with unpaid obligations totaling 19,434.78 euros as of August 6.

Financial reports indicate a significant decline in the company's performance. While it recorded a profit of 9,301 euros in 2023, revenue dropped by over 40 percent the following year, resulting in a loss exceeding 52,000 euros. The potential bankruptcy affects seven employees.

This case occurs amid a broader trend of increasing insolvency in Croatia. FINA data shows that by the end of June 2026, 13,876 business entities were blocked, representing an 11.9 percent increase compared to the previous year. The Slavonia region continues to experience high rates of insolvency, often driven by family-owned businesses in the food, agriculture, and timber sectors facing financial shocks.
