Consumer Office issues vehicle transaction recommendations

The Municipal Office of Citizen Rights, Consumers, and Users has issued a series of recommendations to prevent issues during vehicle transactions. This follows an increase in inquiries regarding the purchase, sale, and consignment of vehicles, including used cars, new units, and financing arrangements.

To protect consumers, the Office advises against handing over money, vehicles, or documentation without clearly understood written conditions. For vehicle consignments, a contract must detail the car's data, the duration at the dealership, and the offering price. For sales, it is recommended to verify the CUIT and ensure the sales agreement correctly details all parties, vehicle information, amounts, and financing terms. Additionally, sellers should file a sale report with the Motor Vehicle Registry once the transaction is complete.
