Consumer product recalls in UK and US trigger safety warnings

UK regulators have issued several product recalls after safety concerns were identified. The Food Standards Agency and the Office for Product Safety and Standards flagged ham products from Lidl O'Brien Fine Foods over possible Listeria contamination, a colour‑block purse from Primark for excessive phthalates breaching REACH regulations, and a chicken‑and‑mushroom sauce from Spar that may contain undeclared soy, prompting consumers to return the items for refund or replacement.

In the United States, Mars Petcare recalled two batches of its Pedigree® canned high‑protein dog food after detecting possible metal and plastic fragments in the cans. Owners are advised to stop feeding the product, contact veterinarians, and return the cans for a replacement, although no pet injuries have been reported so far.
