Consumer protection inspections find safety flaws in leisure facilities
The National Authority for Consumer Protection (NKFH) has released the results of safety inspections conducted at summer leisure facilities during the first half of the year. Following an audit of 470 locations involving 2,384 pieces of entertainment equipment, sports gear, and facilities, inspectors identified deficiencies at 94 sites (20%) and within 442 devices (19%).
The inspections focused on amusement parks, aquaparks, adventure parks, fitness parks, and summer camps. Authorities also examined the operating conditions of wired mountain hiking trails. The regulatory checks included verifying mandatory documentation, certificates, required safety markings, and ensuring that trained personnel were present for high-risk equipment.
Necessary measures have been taken to rectify the identified shortcomings. The NKFH stated that these inspections, which will continue until the autumn break, aim to prevent accidents, enhance consumer safety, and improve service quality.
