Consumer wearables market projected to exceed $1 trillion by 2032

The global consumer wearables market is projected to generate more than $1 trillion in cumulative revenue between 2026 and 2032, according to a report by Counterpoint Research. This growth is expected to outpace shipment volumes as consumers shift toward higher-priced, more advanced devices.

Wireless earbuds (hearables) are forecasted to lead the market with approximately $360 billion in revenue, followed by smartwatches at $304 billion and smart eyewear at $168 billion. Other emerging categories include health patches ($120 billion), smart rings ($44 billion), and smart pendants ($24 billion).

A primary driver of this value-led growth is the transition from basic fitness tracking to preventive healthcare. New devices are increasingly designed to use artificial intelligence and advanced sensors to detect health anomalies before users notice them. While Apple and Samsung maintain strong positions in the smartwatch segment, specialized brands like Garmin are gaining ground through high-performance sports models. Additionally, smart glasses are expected to become a significant category, potentially accounting for one-fifth of total market revenue by 2032.
