Argentina wholesale supermarkets launch Black Week to boost consumption
The Argentine Chamber of Distributors and Wholesale Self-Service Stores (CADAM) has announced the Black Week National Wholesale campaign, scheduled to run from November 16 to 23. Approximately 200 physical and online businesses will participate, offering discounts on essential goods including food, beverages, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products.
The initiative aims to stimulate sales and support the wholesale channel, which is vital for supplying over 140,000 small local businesses such as grocery stores, kiosks, and neighborhood supermarkets. This effort comes as the sector faces a contraction in consumption; data from Scentia indicates that mass consumption fell 1.2% year-on-year in September, with a cumulative volume decline of 2.7% during the first nine months of the year.
While categories like perishables and cleaning products have seen declines, food and alcoholic beverages have shown growth. The campaign represents a coordinated effort between manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers to facilitate access to essential items and revitalize the commercial circuit during a period of economic difficulty.
