Contempopránea festival releases short film marking 30 years

The Contempopránea music festival has released a short film titled ‘30 years of pop and friendship’ to commemorate its 30th anniversary. The documentary explores the festival's history and its impact on the Spanish indie-pop scene since its inception in 1996.

Filmed in Alburquerque, the production utilizes archival footage and testimonials from figures such as founder Agustín Fuentes, Irene Fuentes, and Rodrigo Rasero. The film traces the festival's evolution from its origins in Alburquerque to its role as a major cultural hub for independent music and community building.

The release serves as a prelude to the ‘Fiesta CPOP 30’, a symbolic commemorative event scheduled for August 21 and 22 at the Paseo de las Laderas del Castillo de Luna in Alburquerque. This smaller-scale celebration will feature various live performances, including sets by Meteosat, Apartamentos Acapulco, La Habitación Roja, and others, marking a return to the festival's historical roots.
