The contemporary art exhibition ‘Exploraciones de lo Cotidiano, Ritualidad y Memoria’ is currently being held at the Museo del Convento de Santo Domingo in Cusco. The showcase features twenty-two artists from the Arequipa-based collective QUIPA and the group Espacio Convergente.
The exhibition focuses on everyday gestures, significant objects, ritual practices, and the collective memories that shape human habitation. By bringing together these two collectives, the project aims to foster an exchange between different artistic experiences and regional voices from southern Peru.
In a related context of Peruvian contemporary art, artist Claudia Coca continues her long-standing work exploring themes of race and coloniality. Her career, which includes a major retrospective at the MAC in Lima, has focused on deconstructing colonial structures through various media, including paintings, drawings, and installations.
