Contemporary art exhibitions launch in Cantabria and Asturias
Various contemporary art initiatives are taking place across northern Spain. In Cantabria, the ‘Audaces2’ collective exhibition is being held at the central courtyard of the Parliament of Cantabria. Curated by Jesús Alberto Pérez Castaños, the multidisciplinary show features ten young local artists, including Débora Regalado, Lorena Bolívar, and Gonzalo Zúñiga. The exhibition includes painting, photography, sculpture, installations, collage, and video works, exploring themes of social change and urban life.
In Asturias, the ‘Arte en las plazas’ project aims to transform local town squares into temporary cultural laboratories. Organized by the La Juan Gallery collective and supported by Laboral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial and the Fundación Caja Rural de Asturias, the event features participatory actions such as live painting, music, and performances. Participating artists include Mocholi, Verónica Ruth Frías, Marta Botas, and María Mieres, focusing on themes of memory, identity, and community dialogue.
