Spain hosts various contemporary dance and flamenco performances

Various dance and performing arts events are taking place across Spain. Choreographer Laura Morales presents ‘Ser Pastora’ at Teatro Leal, a contemporary piece inspired by rural memory and the concept of transhumance.

In Madrid, flamenco artist María Pagés premieres ‘Bilbao Square’ at Centro Danza Matadero, an autobiographical work exploring her move from Seville to the capital as a teenager. Meanwhile, the 14th edition of the Bucles Contemporary Dance Festival is being held in Valencia, focusing on intergenerational movement under the theme ‘Balla fins al final’.

Other regional activities include the Cia. Maduixa presenting ‘Dominare’ in Buñol, and the Auditorio de Tenerife’s La Salita program restarting its season with the play ‘Libros cruzados’. Additionally, Mayeusis in Vigo is hosting an open week of dance classes for all ages, covering ballet, jazz, and contemporary styles.
