Contemporary theatrical productions scheduled in Paraguay and Spain
Various theatrical productions are scheduled for upcoming performances in Paraguay and Spain.
In Paraguay, the production ‘Babel. Dark Techno Ritual’, directed by Mario Santander, will be presented at the Manzana de la Rivera in the Sala Federico García Lorca. The performance, scheduled for October 30, 31, and November 1, blends theatre, ritual, movement, and electronic music. Inspired by the myth of the Tower of Babel, the piece uses dark techno as a dramaturgical engine to explore human communication and the breakdown of language through twelve performers.
In Spain, the Brazilian company Polifônica will present ‘Deserto’ at Flaix de Tardor – BCN in Barcelona on October 21, 22, and 23, followed by dates in Madrid in November. Directed by Luiz Felipe Reis and starring Rodrigo Bolzan, the show is a scenic portrait of the literary universe of Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño. Rather than a traditional biography, the performance uses fragments from works such as ‘2666’ and ‘The Unknown University’ to explore the role of poetic creation amidst contemporary violence.
