Contenur expands waste management operations into New York City
Spanish waste management company Contenur, based in Getafe, is expanding its operations into the United States following a successful pilot program in West Harlem, New York. The company installed approximately 1,200 containers as part of an initiative to address urban cleanliness and reduce rat sightings, which the company describes as a substantial success.
General Manager Antonio Beláustegui stated that the long-term goal is to install 60,000 containers across New York City over the next five years. Through its U.S. subsidiary, Contenur intends to replicate this model in other high-density American cities, including Washington D.C., Boston, Philadelphia, and Baltimore, starting with the Northwest region before moving east.
