All-season tires see rising popularity amid varying test results
Recent testing and industry analysis show a growing trend in the adoption of all-season tires, driven by milder winters and the convenience of avoiding seasonal changes. However, performance varies significantly between models.
In a test conducted by the Automobilclub von Deutschland (AvD), the Continental Allseason Contact 2 was named the winner for its balanced performance. Other high-performing models included the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 and the Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3. While all-season tires offer cost and time savings, budget models like the Kingboss As365 4-Seasons were rated poorly, suggesting that consumers should prioritize quality over the lowest price.
Similarly, a collaborative test by the ACV, ARBÖ, and GTÜ identified the Pirelli Cinturato Allseason SF3 as the top performer among ten models tested in Sweden and Spain. The results highlight a clear divide between a high-performing top tier and lower-quality options, emphasizing the importance of selecting tires that meet specific safety standards for wet and snowy conditions.
