Continental launches Conti Eco HT 5 trailer tire

Continental has announced the launch of the Conti Eco HT 5 trailer tire, completing its fifth-generation Conti Eco portfolio for freight transportation. The new tire joins the existing Conti Eco HS 5 steer tire and Conti Eco HD 5 drive tire to provide a coordinated solution for transport fleets.

Designed for both regional and long-distance operations, the Conti Eco HT 5 aims to reduce rolling resistance, operating costs, and fuel consumption. Hinnerk Kaiser, Continental’s head of truck and bus tire development for the EMEA region, noted that while attention often focuses on steer and drive axles, trailer tires play a significant role in overall vehicle efficiency and CO2 emissions.

Because trailer tires can account for up to 50% of the total rolling resistance in a truck and trailer combination, the new model utilizes optimized materials, a redesigned sidewall, and advanced filler compounds to balance low rolling resistance with high mileage and reliable grip.
