Continental launches WinterContact TS 870 P winter tires

Continental has released the WinterContact TS 870 P, a winter tire designed for passenger cars and SUVs. The model covers rim sizes from 14 to 18 inches, with widths ranging from 155 to 225 mm and aspect ratios from 40 to 70.

Technical features include a ‘CoolChili’ compound, rain grooves for water displacement, and deep parallel sipes to enhance lateral traction. The tire is engineered to balance grip on cold surfaces with stability and reduced rolling resistance. It supports speed ratings of up to 240 km/h.

In recent evaluations, the tire has achieved high marks. In an Auto Bild sportscars test, the 235/50 R19 dimension earned a top rating of 1.3, leading in categories such as snow handling, dry handling, and braking. Additionally, tests by ADAC, ÖAMTC, and TCS awarded the 205/55 R 16 size a rating of 2.0, placing it first among twelve tested models.
