Contrapò to plant olive tree in memory of deceased child Beatrice

A symbolic olive tree will be planted in the garden of the Beata Beatrice II d’Este nursery school in Contrapò to honor the memory of Beatrice, a two-year-old girl from Bordighera who died in February.

Her death followed alleged family abuse, an incident currently under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of Imperia. Authorities have arrested the child's mother and her partner on charges of aggravated maltreatment. Medical examinations indicated the cause of death was a severe cerebral hemorrhage resulting from violent head trauma.

The initiative, organized by the Cooperativa Le Dita and supported by the local administration, aims to use the commemoration to raise awareness regarding child welfare, the identification of signs of distress, and the protection of children from violence.
