Contreras Hermanos wins US$ 135M contract for Vicuña copper project roads

A consortium comprising Contreras Hermanos, Boetto y Buttigliengo (BBC), and the San Juan-based firm Construmin has been awarded a US$ 135 million contract to construct the North Access Corridor for the Vicuña copper project.

The project involves building the first 63.6 kilometers of road in the Iglesia department of San Juan, Argentina. This infrastructure is essential for the logistics and connectivity required for Phase 1 of the Josemaría mine, facilitating the transport of equipment and supplies to the high mountains.

The 27-month contract includes comprehensive roadworks, massive earthmoving, drainage systems, sewerage, bridges, and electrical installations. The inclusion of Construmin as a local partner aims to promote regional employment and the development of the local supply chain.
