Control4 powers smart home integration at Lake Norman luxury residence

ADI and Control4 have showcased a smart home integration project at a luxury waterfront residence on North Carolina’s Lake Norman. The project followed a 16-month renovation that involved stripping the property down to its structural shell before rebuilding.

Integrated through the Control4 platform, the system combines Lux Lighting, Triad audio, Araknis networking, and Luma surveillance. The installation aims to provide whole-home control over lighting, climate, security, and audio while remaining visually unobtrusive to preserve the home’s architectural features and interior design.

Charlotte-based integrator HTS coordinated the project alongside the homeowner and an interior design firm. The design-led approach focused on the placement of visible technology, such as touchscreens and televisions, to ensure they blend naturally into the environment. The use of customized lighting scenes and keypads was also implemented to reduce the need for traditional wall switches.
