Massachusetts mother accused of killing two children

A tragedy has unfolded in Duxbury, Massachusetts, where a mother is accused of killing her two eldest children and attempting to kill her infant before attempting suicide. Lindsay Clancy, a 32-year-old nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, allegedly strangled her 5-year-old daughter, Cora, and 3-year-old son, Dawson, during a brief 25-minute absence by her husband, Patrick Clancy. The couple's 8-month-old son was found unconscious and remains in critical condition.

Investigators are looking into whether postpartum psychosis played a role in the incident. Lindsay Clancy had previously shared her struggles with postpartum depression on social media, seeking support for her condition. She was under intensive treatment at a specialized clinic and had been receiving support from her husband, who had transitioned to remote work to assist her. Clancy remains under police supervision at a hospital and will face murder charges once medically cleared to appear in court.
