The “Controvento Lorenzo Reina” award has been established to honor individuals and experiences dedicated to territorial valorization. The initiative is promoted by the Via delle Rondini social promotion association and Smap, with patronage from the Sicilian Regional Assembly and the Free Municipal Consortium of Agrigento.

The award commemorates Lorenzo Reina, an artist and shepherd who passed away in December 2025. Reina is best known for creating the Teatro Andromeda, a stone amphitheater located at an altitude of one thousand meters in Santo Stefano Quisquina, featuring 108 seats arranged in the pattern of a constellation.

Details regarding the award will be presented on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Villa Comunale in Santo Stefano Quisquina. The presentation will be part of the “Le Vie del Cibo della Lunga Vita” tour, featuring tastings, entertainment, and the presentation of the essay “Monti Sicani, anima antica della Sicilia.”
